Spring Giveaway!

Posted on: April 3rd, 2012 by Lydia 47 Comments

I did not wake up in the best mood today so I am going to do something about it! I want to giveaway some of my favorite fruity Orange and Pineapple Marshmallows and maybe some of our Hand-piped Marshmallow Chicks. Hand-piped Homemade Marshmallow Peeps

Let’s see if we can get to 1200 “Likes” on facebook and 1000 followers on twitter, and I bet since you guys are so excited to win we can close the giveaway by the end of the day.

So here is how we’re gonna do this . . . If you are not already a fan on facebook or follower on twitter start there.  Then tell all your friends about this giveaway by shouting form the internet rooftop about how much you want to enjoy Sweet Lydia’s Marshmallow! Share the following statement on facebook and/or twitter “I want to win gourmet marshmallows from @SweetLydias”. Then leave a separate comment on this post saying if you are fan on facebook, follower on twitter, and if you shared the link on either.  Each comment gets you a chance to enter!

And since I want to share as much happiness as possible, I think we’ll have two winners but you must be a social media fan of Sweet Lydia’s to win. I’ll close the one giveaway when I hit 1200 “Likes” on facebook and the other when I hit 1000 followers on twitter.

Let’s get this marshmallow party started!

PS I just saw this video and I think this is how we are supposed to live life

P.S. If it doesn’t look like I’m close to the number goals, I will close the giveaway tomorrow night so the marshmallows can arrive by Easter!

Sweet Lydia’s Marshmallow Guide/Cookbooklet Has Arrived!

Posted on: November 10th, 2011 by Lydia 2 Comments

It’s been hard to me to keep this under-wraps the past few weeks. I always want things like this to be a complete surprise for everyone, but I just get so excited that I can’t keep my mouth shut. My secret-keeping ability was hindered by the fact that I started this project way back in May and didn’t get it finished and in my hands until just now. You ready for the cover? BAM! Don’t fret, that picture on the cover is one of the recipes inside too.

The amazing pictures were taken by Lara Swanson (the best) who also has her own baking blog Semisweetie where she share mouth-watering pictures of other delicious goodies she bakes.  All her baking experience and taste buds came in handy when I was thinking about and testing the recipes included in this Guide.  In fact, the entire reason it took so long to get this cookbooklet put together is the sugar coma we fell into while creating the first half the book prevented us from baking and shooting any more that day.  That was back in May and then I got a wee bit busy with farmers markets and here we are in November.

Over the next two weeks or so Lara and I will share a few of our favorite recipes and pictures with you on our respective blogs (probably including the brownies pictured above).

The cookbooklets are for sale here and here if you want to get one with 3 different bags of marshmallows to test out the recipes for yourself, or send them to a friend. I will also have them at all the holiday fairs this season (which start next week, eek) and you can pick one up at Brew’d Awakening in downtown Lowell.

Thank you to all the customers who kept asking me about the best way to eat my marshmallows; you are the inspiration behind this, And thanks to all those who contributed recipes and ideas. And of course all your help combating brownie boredom, one S’more at a time!™

If I were tiny

If I were tiny I would sleep on a marshmallow. Love the concept and image. I really enjoyed the book The Borrowers when I was younger too.

Fall is (almost) here

Posted on: September 7th, 2011 by Lydia No Comments

Fall is my favorite time of year. I get to celebrate birthday, postseason baseball, scarfs and everything pumpkin spice. Even though Fall doesn’t actually start until the equinox on September 23, I am unleashing the Fall S’more flavors today. I am bringing back the two fall s’mores from last year because they were so well received.

The Apple Cider S’more has apple cider marshmallow made with fresh local (to Mass) apple cider, sandwiched between two cinnamon sugar graham crackers and is covered in dark chocolate.

The Pumpkin Spice S’more has pumpkin spice marshmallow made with real pumpkin flavored with cinnamon, nutmeg and clove, sandwiched between cinnamon sugar grahams and is covered in milk chocolate. These Pumpkin babies were featured on last year as a suggested harvest season wedding favor. You can also get a mixed box with both the Apple Cider and Pumpkin Spice S’mores if you can’t decide on which one you want to enjoy with your hot chocolate or coffee on a brisk fall afternoon.

Don’t like the s’more part and just want the marshmallows? No problem, you can get the marshmallows on their own. Hope these sweets help keep you warm as we enter scarf and boot weather.

A Marshmallow Man Sandwich

Posted on: June 3rd, 2011 by Lydia No Comments

Someone who follows @sweetlydias on twitter sent me a link to this amazing image.

Don’t worry about the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, this model was made out of clay just to be awesome.

Source (Foodbeast via Mark)

I love the little bite marks in the leg and thinking that the Marshmallow Man was just walking down the street and tripped into a s’more trap set by the cannibalistic Michelin Man.

Have a great weekend. We will be at Sowa Open Market on Sunday from 10-4.
